Dino Zoff built his medal haul through years of authoritative consistency, while Geoff Hurst won his with ruthless bursts of brilliance. Context beyond the headline totals is important: Dino Zoff's landmark level arrived around 1982 with a career spanning Udinese, Mantova, Napoli, Juventus; Geoff Hurst's came around 1966 across West Ham United, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion.
